Viroqua Wisconsin: Realtors, pay attention while taking a photo

Realtors, pay attention while taking a photo

Please Vote: How does a Realtor take a photo exactly like this?

1.        You know the guy in the red cap and accidentally push the shutter button.

2.        You normally are not aware of your surrounding and life just happens while doing real estate.

3.        You felt the bright color of the red cap would add drama to the drab room and is your idea of staging a room.

4.        You really don't care how the picture turned out and the MLS requires a photo within 48 hours.

Photo courtesy of an agent friend of mine who is now trying to pay more attention to what's going on around them in the room while taking their listing photos.

Hi Mary,  The funniest on-line photo on the MLS I've seen lately is one of a bathroom.  The photographer (presumably the real estate agent) was stading on the toilet (in shorts and sandals, no less) taking the photo.  You could see his image in the bathroom mirror from the wait down.  It was too funny!

Mary

This is something I would be guilty of. Photos truly can make or break getting the property sold at times.

Diana, That does sound hysterical he is lucky he did not fall off the stool... or toilet... depends on what you call the darn thing...

Tom, I think it is more of a guy thing anyway, as most men are not totally tuned into the decor.

Looks like my husband was your photographer...that is why we hire one now...staging the picture is not his best thing...hanging it where I tell him...much better !

Sally should have added many men are tuned more into sports, not decor. Have a great weekend.

Not an unusual find unfortunately... Some agents should hire professional photographers...

Hey Mary, We need to think about what we're doing when taking listing pictures..it can be the difference between someone saying I want to come see that house or not.

Have a great day,

Unless the TV is showing more pictures of the house, it should be off.

Caron: So true, I see bad MLS photos a lot, this is one that really stood out from the rest due to how large the person on the TV is and red cap.

Mary: If you goofedin the past, bet you don't now after reading all that is on AR.

Anne: That is exactly it, unless they know the house a poor photo may be a reason to not look.

Todd, That actually would be a good thing, prepare a DVD of the listing and have the seller turn on the set before the showing... might be a good marketing idea.
